  1. My friend speaks Hindi, Pubjabi, Romanian, Spanish and English. She speaks to her dogs in English as it’s the main language where she currently lives.

My other friend speaks Chinese, English and Romanian. They speak to the dog in Romanian as it’s their kids first language so they just have a habit of speaking that language now.

  3. My ex-husband speaks Bengali, Hindi, and English fluently with a smattering of local Indian languages. He speaks to our cats in Bengali. When his mom would be with us, she’d also speak to them in Bengali. Now, when I am asking the cats to do something routine (come inside, etc), I have to use the Bengali phrases. I’m a native English speaker and took Spanish in high school/college.
